At Tesco, 'no-one tries harder for customers' and 'treat people how we like to be treated' are two of our key values and are at the core of everything we do.

We help to live these values by making everyone welcome at Tesco and ensuring that our staff have the opportunity to get on, regardless of their ethnicity, gender, age, disability or sexual orientation.

The Asian Network is an internal Tesco group that aims to attract and develop talented Asians from inside and outside Tesco.

We want to support and encourage more Asian colleagues to develop their careers with Tesco and want to let Asians in the wider community know that Tesco is a great place to work.

The Asian Network is focusing on four key areas:

1. Graduate and Undergraduate intake: to support Tesco's existing relationships with universities to make sure our message reaches the widest possible audience

2. Mentoring: to make sure Asian colleagues are aware of and take part in opportunities to receive coaching and guidance from a mentor in Tesco

3. Events: to bring Asians from across the business together to share knowledge and experiences

4. Communications: to let Asian colleagues know about the support available to develop their careers and to let Asians in the wider community know that Tesco is a great place to work
